Floating in Space

Giving Her the Moon

What was most significant about the lunar voyage was not that men set foot on the moon
but that they set eye on the earth.

- Norman Cousins

A friend of mine once sent me a post card with a picture of the entire planet Earth taken from space.
On the back it said, "Wish you were here."

I highly recommend a visit to the NASA site - they have many stunning photographs there, some quite large.

Seattle Moon

The full moon turns red and orange as it passes the Space Needle
in Seattle during a total lunar eclipse Wednesday evening, 27 October 2004.

With the Earth passing between the sun and the moon, the only light hitting the full moon was from the home planet's sunrises and sunsets, resulting in the orange and red hue.
