The experience of updating a website for the past 10 years has been enlightening. It has proven to be both harder and easier than I had expected. It was easier to get it up than I anticipated but keeping it running - the pages updated with new information and maintained in a relatively error-free condition - requires a surprising amount of time.
Worse than maintenance is getting visitors to leave some record of their passage through the site. This has proven virtually impossible. Certainly I can understand - I don't even allow cookies on my computer. I browse the Internet on tiptoe, trying to leave no footprints.
