Eastern Germany Sinkhole

A 65-foot-deep sinkhole opened in the eastern German town of Schmalkalden November 2010.  It measured over 130 feet (40 metres) across, forcing evacuation of 25 people in 9 houses.  It swallowed a car and parts of a garage.  From 10,000 to 12,000 cubic metres of soil slipped.
